The speaking test has two parts:
Discussion on a sub-theme (5–6 minutes):
You’ll be given two stimulus cards (one year 1 theme and one year 2 theme) and asked to choose prepare one. You’ll have 5 minutes to do this. During this time, you can makes notes and have them with you in the exam.
Each card includes text, images, and three questions. You’ll discuss these with your examiner.
You must also ask two original questions based on the card.
Individual Research Project (IRP):
You’ll present your research for up to 2 minutes, then discuss it for 9–10 minutes.
Your project must be based on at least two sources (one online) and allow for a detailed discussion.
Before the exam, you’ll submit headings (in English) showing the scope of your project and your sources.
