This paper tests your listening, reading, writing and translation skills.

• Listening: You’ll hear a variety of recordings (different speakers, registers, and contexts) linked to the topics of the course. You’ll answer questions in French or with non-verbal responses i.e. tick the box questions. Some questions will ask you to summarise what you’ve heard in French. Good news: you’ll have individual control of the audio. This means you can pause, rewind, or skip ahead as much as you like.

• Reading: You’ll read texts adapted from authentic sources, from articles to fiction extracts. Again, questions may test gist, detail, inference, and your ability to summarise in French.

• Translation: You’ll translate one passage from French into English and one passage from English into French. The texts will be connected to the themes.
